high beam switch- where does this black piece go?
I've done some research as to why my high beams donet turn on.
I located the metal rod that goes from the side of the steering colum down under the dash and turns the high beam swutch on and off.
However, the control arm for the high mbeams and the turn signals is loose and a black plastic piece fell off when i was examining it. A picture of the black peice is posted below. Any ideas on where it goes and how to put it back on?

It goes such that a metal extention on the inside of the steering collumn fits in the slot. The curved end( at the top of the picture) will face the dash and should rest against the metal rod that goes down to the switch. Not the easiest thing to describe and I'm not taking my collumn apart again to take picutures unless I have to... Was bad enough doing it the first time.

On this topic, has anyone just done away with that under in-dash switch and column rod, and maybe install a switch somewhere (im figuring under the light ****) to control the high beams?
I'm going to do this, just wondering if anyone else already has.
When I do, I'll take pictures of the column to show that piece's location.

You can always install a floor mounted dimmer, like almost all cars USED TO have. Finding the little round trim grommet for your carpeting may be a little tough, but I'll bet some of the better upholstery shops still have them available in many colors.

If you look at the cover, there is a piece of plastic that the large hole in the piece in the picture slides on. That's why it fell out when you took the cover off. Kinda hard to describe though.
