86 tpi camaro firewall wire question
what is the 2 wire plug coming out of the drivers side of car through the firewall with the other bundle of wires? it is about 2 inches long and it was pluged into the tpi harness. . i have removed my tpi and computer and this connector was the only one connecting the engine wiring on drivers side to the computer wiring on the passenger side for the ecm and controls. my thoughts are fuel pump wires, or the oil pump pressure switch wires that were tied into the fuel pump wiring, or temp guage wires. i no its not the ac clutch compressor wires as those are alot longer and i have identified them.....
any help would be awesome

without seeing a pic of what you are talking about, i believe the plug you are talking about is the coolant temp (green) and the alternator wire (dark brown).

the green wire is the coolant temp wire and the brown looks to be the oil presure wire.

that could possibly be the voltage wire at the alternator. Is the bat voltage the same as the wire voltage?

alt wire is 12.5 same as batt volt. and the switched alt wire (yellow) is also 12.5 with key switched on. so alt wiring is all functional.

I am almost positive that has nothing to do with the fuel pump. Let me look at my old TPI harness and figure it out.
I believe that is a blank connector for an options that didn't come on your car, the best way to figure it out would be a wiring diagram. if you don't have a haynes or chilton(both of which are almost completely useless), check out this http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...3d80163fb5.jsp
forget about that connector and look for your fuel pump wires coming from one of the relays right next to where you are looking

the relays are gone. sold to buyer of my complete tpi. these are the only wires coming into the engine bay without a home.
