Horn

If it is electronic it will sound like crap if it has two actual bugle horns with it it will sound like the one on the show.

My friend has one in his ElCamino, he had to unhook it because everytime I road with him I pushed it. I didn't give a **** whether he was doing a burnout or driving at 5mph through a school zone.

Bowtye, the dixie horn that uses an air compressor has 5 horns.

Had people who do the same to me about pressing the horn all the time, so i installed the switch on the driver side under the headlight switch.

Air should sound fine, electric will probably sound bad.

I placed my in the nose of my camaro to keep it hidden, nice spot until you get your front ran over. All that is left of my dixie horns are a few broken horns and a compressor.

Dixie horn

Well I'm sure there are more than one good set of dixie horns out there my 70 charger has the one I mentioned and sounds fine just as good as the one in the show but I agree with the switch I think I'll do that it irritates the hell out of me when my passengers blast it all over town. Thanks guy.

the other day my budy painted his 92 cavalier hemi orange. I laughed my *** off and went and grabed some spray paint...you know where this is going....a 92 cavalier General Lee. lol. we even rigged the doors so no one could open them again. anyway, we went to autozone and ordered a dixie horn. It came with the 5 horns and a compressor that ran off a 12v source. it sounded great! and it only cost $60.

Re: any one got the dixie horn installed and working?

I bought my self a set of the Dixie horns and they run great in warm weather, but when it gets cold out side, the air compressor makes this strange and unpleant sounds like it's trying to breath and the horns don't blow, but if I hold the button down for about 10-15 min the horns start blowing but VERY VERY faint. any one know what to do to fix it
