Gauges will work. You will need a new distributor. And if it's an automatic you'll need a computer simulator that plugs into the tranny.

as far as my 84 TA goes that's all true. you'll just need a vaccum advance distributor. the computer was just completely cut out of my car. everything works fine. I have a T-5 tranny though so I'm not sure about the lock up features.

It's also true that your transmission won't live as long without the lock up feature.

Yes it "works fine", you're just shortening the life of it, especially if you do a lot of cruising at highway speeds. An external cooler helps, but best is to keep the lockup function working somehow.

Mines a t-5 so I wouldnt know about the tranny stuff. But as far as the rest of the stuff what i did is, i checked the factory harness for big power wires, i think i ended up finding 3 10 ga. red wires that made all my accessories work through the original fuse panel. I found themat the battery connector. after that i just eliminated all the extra tbi stuff, check out my page and see how it looks now... hope this helps
