Right Blinker doesnt flash (Not the bulb)

Hey everyone,
Been having a problem with my right turn signal for a while now. I tried to fix it myself, but I have had no luck. So I figured I would throw it by you guys.

Symptoms:
-The right blinker doesnt flash. It just stays lit.
-The right front marker lights light up and stay lit.
-The right front turn signal lights up bright and stays lit.
-The right rear turn signal light doesnt do anything.

Parts replaced so far:
-Right Rear blinker bulb
-Entire rear wiring harness from trunk back

What should I be looking for? Is the problem in the wiring or the switch? Any thoughts?

The switch does of course not differentiate between front and rear bulbs, so of course it can't be the switch...
There's rarely need to replace entire harnesses, you just need to check the rear socket for oxidation, and if all is shiny there you just follow the wire and check for corrosion on all connections you find.. A test lamp is a most useful item to help you find out where there's power or not... Get one and use it, then report back..

The harness was kinda hacked anyway. So I was just kinda hoping it would solve the problem. Looks like im following wires. (I hate this)

I have the same problem

I have the same problem with my car. The right front signal light is on and brighter than the left but it does not blink. The other lights blink fine...actually it's not exactly the same problem. I just went outside to check it out before finishing this post and here it is:

the rear lights work normaly

the front left side marker blinks when the blinkers are on but the front signal light just stays lit brightly

the right side marker does not blink or turn on but the front signal is on and dimly lit and does not blink.

CLS?

Crazy light syndrome?

I will search around for a wiring diagram for my car but if anyone knows of a post of one please post the link ok. Thanks guys!

Fixed My light problem..hope it helps some of you

So I was out checking out the situation

the wiring is fine from lights to everywhere
flasher fashes
when turned on the hazards the left marker works both front did not and the right marker did not...rears fine

would you believe after checking relays measuring voltages etc...
the problem was soooooo simple

Apparently the signal lights are polaraized so what happened when my left turn signal light burnt out i went to buy a new one, they only came in packs of two so I thought Oh well I guess I'll have a spare.

When I checked the bulbs the right was on but the left was not so to troubleshoot I tried swapping them and noticed that they only lock in one way.

Basically I had two left bulbs in both the left and right. You can turn the bulb 180degrees and it will lock into the socket but it will not turn on.

Bought new ones works like a charm. I have been putting this off and risking a ticket for this!

Hope this helps someone! Later.

First I want to apologize to JerseyMark for being unneccessarily harsh.. There might very well have been an issue with his hazard switch, or the use of wrong bulbs or the wrong insertion of polarized ones. It's not always easy to give latitude for all possibilites..
palomo88ta: Are you indicating that you had to buy different bulbs for the left and right signal lights?? I know that most signal bulbs are of the Bay15d 21/5W variety, and has differing height of the two bayonet pins, in order to assure that the correct filament gets connected to the correct circuit. If your socket allows you to insert it the wrong way around and still get light, then the parklight becomes 21W and the turn light becomes only 5W, making the blinker relay blink slowly or not at all.. What happens if you manage to insert a Ba15s or a Ba15d in the (Bay15d) signal lamp I dare not venture into..

Its alright... I didnt even take your comment as being harsh. Just to let everyone know, I did end up finding the problem. One of the connectors under the dash was working itself loose. Tightened it up & all is well.

in light of what you said

Both lights only go in one way. perhaps one of the filaments were out but when i took the same light from the left side wich didn't work at all and put it in the right socket it worked fine. However on the left side it only flashed if i turned it the wrong way wich didnt snap in but it flashed. Perhaps somone with more knowledge than i knows what i am talking about but they are working now.

Do the simple things first, like replace the flasher unit under the dash. these go bad and cause your kind of problems.

A visual inspection of the socket is imperative in such cases, you have actually located the trouble spot yourself.. Check for shiny contact points and sufficient spring pressure.
