changed everything and still nothing

ok i changed my alternator belt and new battery but i still get the same result while at and idel such as at a stop light the battery gauge starts to drain but while in park is still good also while driving it shows its charging i am completly lost please help

Please don't trust your dash volt meter. Take a good DIgital Volt Ohm Meter (DVOM) and check voltage at the battery & at your alternator. If you still have problems after that post back. Put your DVOM across the battery terminals, take a reading-compare it to dash guage, start the car apply the emergency brake & put the trans in gear, take a reading & compare to the dash guage. I bet you will find that the dash gauge is not accurate.

Check the wire that comes up from the starter to the alternator, make sure it has not been melted from touching the manifold. That was my problem with the same issue.

yeah u were right i dont have a volt meter but parts store does and they said everything was working fine so now whats the next step gettin a new volt meter

John,
Check car shows, swap meets & ebay for an OEM gauge or go with an aftermarket pillar type gauge set. I usually go aftermarket for volt, temp & oil pressure gauges.

well i think i figured out the prob it wasnt a ground or a faulty gauge it was the my engine idel was too low thats why it wasnt chargin while sitting at a stop light i just changed it and took it for a ride 2nite with the wipers goin head lights on my 2 twelves bumpin and it went down but never past 13 so i think i am ok thanks for your guys help and ill def. update if it starts up again
