Car Wont Start... Nothing at all... HELP!!
So my wife took the camaro out tonight. Havent had any issues with it lately, and then all of a sudden at the end of the night I get a phone call stating the car is stranded, and wont start.
Eventually I make it out there, and the thing is dead in the water. Nothing happens when I turn the key. So I tried to jump it thinking the battery was shot. Still nothing no matter what I tried. So I took the battery out of the car, and put it in my truck and the truck starts right up! So the battery is fine.
What the heck is going on with this? All of a sudden out of the blue a I have a bad connection somewhere? Nothing has changed. I need to start from square 1. What is next after the battery in the wiring scheme of things? I dont get a dome light, headlights, nothing, so the entire car isnt getting power, not just the motor.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I am going back out this morning in a few hours to take another look.
Thanks!!

I'm not sure on a Camaro but my daughters car had a blown Fuse at the end of the positve battery cable, Chevys may have a fusable link in the battery cable itself.
Easy to check with an Ohmeter.

I has to do with the purple wire that goes to the starter relay and the neutral saftey switch
use a test light and check the circuit before and after these two items
If you need to know where they are you need to buy a book
not that I could not tell you but
you can lead a horse to water and you can give a man a fish but if you keep doing everything for people you will never get to your own shizzel

Do you get power anywhere.
Headlight, interior, what not.
I had the same issue happen to my 84 Camaro, turned out that a fusable link had blown / burned.
Of course, if it turns out to be a fusable, make sure to try to find the real cause, or you will be replacing a lot of them...
My real cause happened to be that a starter wire had gone to ground, causing the link to burn.

Ok, thats interesting, someone else had metioned a similar possibility. No I do not get power anywhere that I have found so far. Does this mean this still could be the issue?
Thanks for all help so far.

Ok.. I will check that... but since my car has no power anywhere else, could this still be the issue?
I agree with the last statement... the only reason I am on here last minute is because the car is stranded in the middle of no where. If it was sitting in my driveway, then I would have all the time in the day to monkey with it... Thanks for the suggestion. I will check that, and if you have any more, I apreciaet that too!

Definitely sounds like a fusable link to me.
I would disconnect the battery.
Then use an ohm meter / continuity tester.
Test the Ground battery cable lead to almost any metal point on the car.
If that is cool
I would go from the positive battery cable lead to the nearest testable point on that same cable.
Showly move further and further down the cable till the test fails and thus you should have found your issue.

you need a test light and someone to turn the key to test the entire circuit starting with the s terminal on the starter
many of the members have talked about a fusable link and it could be highly likely that you might have power on one side of the link and none on the other

Thanks for all the help guys. Since the car was stranded, and it was freezing out I ended up towing it to a nearby GM dealer. I bought 2 new fusible links, and all the hardware and spent a few hours monkeying around in the parking lot, but everything we tried didnt seem to work with the limited resources we had, so I took the other route.
I will update everyone thats curious how this turns out. I am convinsed as well this is the problem, but I noticed at least 3 fusible links coming off the starter, and I had another one not even connected to anything. I thought that was the problem at first, but it ended up not making a difference.
Well, it in good hands now, and I am having the rest of the car looked over too to make sure shes tip top, so I guess all is well.
Thanks again for the responces, and I will get an update on Monday or Tuesday I hope!
