need better fuse block diagram

All,

My car won't start. I can't hear the fuel pump running and the thottlebody is bone dry (TBI). I want to test the fuse, and I know it's a 10A. But, the diagram I have says it's "U" on the diagram. there is no "U" there's several places "U" could be, but I wonder if anyone might have a better diagram before I go out there and start pulling 10A fuses after work.

Thanks.

IIRC the fuel pump fuse is located in it's own holder mounted near the battery. There is also a relay mounted on a bracket on the firewall right next to the brake booster.

I love the movie ******....just watched it the other day in fact.

well, I found a better diagram, the fuse in question is a 20A that can/will cut off the ECM, fuel pump relay, and fuel pump/oil pressure sender/switch. I believe the caption on the diagram reads, "we put this in the engine bay because nick doesn't have enough frustration and aggravation already." It kind of makes me feel better that there's still one last fuse to look at, but what are the odds that it is just the fuse?

ok, so the fuse blew. why? boredom?

I guess what I should do is have someone stand there and watch/listen to the injectors to see if they're firing. That'd tell me the ECM is working.

of course, wouldn't it be fantastic if the ECM was toast? I've had my dash out so many times that you'd think I've been paid to do it. They're not cheap either.

I almost want it to be a $35 fuel pump that's only accessible from the top of the tank that's mounted under the car (seriously, access panel, anyone?). my only problem then is 1.) moving the car, 2.) the full-tank of $2.69/gal premium I put in it less than four hours before the thing stopped working, 3.) it's 23F 4.) there's a snowstorm on the way.

****** was hilarious. nothing quite like a bunch of babbling brits. Layer Cake was better for that kind of stuff though.

my brother's friend tells me that there's an access panel under the carpet behind the rear seat. can anyone confirm that this is on the '92?

No access panel unless the chassis has been hacked on.

The fuse likely blew because the pump is fried, although a short in the wiring is also a distinct possibility.

Fuel pumps have a nasty tendency to die when you fill the car up with gas. It seems that dumping cold fuel on a hot pump just doesn't go over well if the pump is already borderline.

Never seen Layer Cake. I liked "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels" though.

Re: need better fuse block diagram

my fuse ia a 15amp fuse for the fuel pump and ecm? is that ok? or should i change it to 20amp?

that is how the car came when i bought it from some guy.

just change it back to 20amp? ive been having drivability problems but the fuse looks ok. if it blew i wouldnt be able to drive the car right? what would the lower value do?

Re: need better fuse block diagram

fuel pump turns on. but what is the proper value for the fuse? and why do you have to replace it everytime you take it out?

car runs very shitty but it does run. i'm going throguh soooo many issues trying to figure out why certain things are happening.
