its time to wire my AC delete box..help!?
ok...Ive been working on my new motor install..and its time to wire the AC delete box and get rid of the old wires..so I can move on to something else....im thinking this is pretty simple but I need your guys help...
heres what I got..
I purchase an AC DELETE BOX that is completly wired and ready to go including the resistor..only 3 wires come out of it to be wired into my harness I guess....
do I just take the 3 wires....yellow,blue and orange and wire them to the same color off my harness that went to the old box? and everything else I can cut and remove?..I followed those colored wires that come from the harness and here what I got from that...
the orange wire runs to the old resistor
theres a yellow and blue that run to the old connector plug
and theres a blue that runs to the evaporator canistor plug
the pictures show the box, the 3 wires coming from the new box and the colored wires coming from my harness
can you guys help me out here?

----------
I also read somewhere that I will only have DEFROST heat from doing this? is that true? I wont have regular heat?

I know a few people have done it, I think it is by trial and error. I have done a massive search here and never got a definate answer, you are on the right track I think

yeah I did a search too...and couldnt find any answers either atleast not to the kind of box I have that is already wired....I know I dont use the blue that goes to the evaporator canistor...so that leaves the others...blue, orange and yellow....or do I need to wire to totally different colors coming from that harness..
SOMEONES got to KNow!..
thanks

Not to sound rude, but did you use a wiring diagram? Seems like the easiest way to see what colors do what and go where.

LOL...dude!..I dont know how to read a wire diagram..Im sure alot of you do but I dont, surely not all that......hell I dont even know what the 3 wires on the box do or go to...
thanks for help though..I looked at the diagrams..and they will help me with some stuff but not for that....I just dont know what to read or look for....
Im sure someone here has done EXACTLY what Im trying to do.

Did you look here? http://www.thirdgenusa.com/Images/Te...ing%20info.zip When I did mine(not on the car anymore) I used all my factory wiring. I used the resistor from the A/C box in the new box and put the A/C connectors under the harness to hide them. I did have to change the connector at the blower motor.

ummm?...LOL...thanks!...but ah? ..
MAN!..I know this is not that hard?....its only 3 little wires I need to connect...I just gotta find out where the 3 go..
I shouldnt have to do anything else, the BOX is already wired with eveything connected...just the 3 wires off the resistor to connect..

If you wire it like that it will work but, the high selection on your controls will do nothing. This also deletes the high speed relay on your old box for obvious reasons. That is why I used my factory wiring to prevent that.

I dont have any of the old setup...I sold it all cause the box came complete....what about the car it came from? did it not have high heat either?......what u mean I wont have high selection? I'll still have heat but the blower wont blow hard?
will I have regular heat or jst defrost? ive red that I will only have defrost...true or was I reading wrong?
after looking at the diagrams...orange is power...and the other two are for the blower selection..or some chit like that.....that on the car...I dont know what the colors are for on the box

Non A/C cars don't have as many selections for blower speed as A/C cars. My heat and defrost worked fine. The heatdefrost selection is controlled by vacuum on A/C cars. That is what that vacuum valve you posted in another post is for. The default setting is defrost. If you do not hook it up you will only have defrost.

ok.I can deal with no high heat..I just have to wait longer for the inside to heat up.
but..do what im thinking as far as connecting the colored wires?..that Im thinking?
and then with the vaccum valve thing...just find a way to connect it? I could put an other vaccum connection on the back of the HSR...theres 2 that I have plugged...correct? will that work out the way so I have heat and defrost?
thanks for your help!
I love wireless internet..im out inthe garage as we speak

The check valve helps to supply vacuum to the underdash portion of the system. without the valve the system will switch from the vents to defrost when you accelerate or vice versa. The extra wires you will have left are for the relay, the high selection on the blower and the pressure switch. The way you are wanting to wire it should work fine. I believe the box has a ground wire for the blower that grounds to one of the screws.

yeah the box had a ground wire that is grounded to the firewall. ...I cut and capped all the wires except for the yellow, orange and blue and wired them to the 3 wires that came off the new box....so that should work,,right?
and with the check valve vaccum thingy...I'll just hook that the one of the plugged holes on the back of my plenum..jsut like it was when I had TPI...so that should continue to work too...
I guess I'll see when I finally crank this freaking thing...after a year...
hey, which wire was for blower high? and where would I wire that to?..cause I can still wire it..I can just uncap it and wire it to where ever it needs to go
