ignition won't turn to acc?

just bought a 91 z28, the when the key is in the car starts fine and turns forward fine but i can't get it to turn backwards to just turn the acc on? do i have to replace the whole section or is there something that possibly sticks? i can live without it unless there is a cheap fix.

My '86 has been like that since I bought it in 98. Unless you listen to the radio for long periods I really don't think you need the ACC. And even when I do listen to the radio I turn it foward one click. If you have a strong battery it really is not a problem. And I know the way you keep your cars battery is the least of your problems. It just was something I decided not to worry about until I have a column or real ignition problem.

I'm having the same issue with my 91Z. With the exception of mine feels a little "sticky" going forward as well. Anyone with ideas? Dont really want to spend $60 on an ignition switch.

You could try adjusting it. Mike

That is true, they are on sliders. There is about an 1/8 of an inch of adjustment.

I've realized that mine does it too. Works fine otherwise, I'm not realy worried about it...
