Well.... It is a brownish tan wire. To be sure, take it and tap it lightly to ground and watch the pressure gauge. It will move.

The only brownish tan wire i can find coming out of my harness from the drivers side is this... but it has a connector and another wire on it.

That doesnt look like it. On my engine it was in the same bundle as the oil pressure switch.

Re: oil pressure sending unit wire?
welp we cut the wires we "thought" we didnt need last year so i have no idea where it is. On the main harness coming out of the drivers side there is a white wire that it cut and doesnt go to anything yet. Could this be it? Is this pic there is the white wire with the connector and another connector that i found that could be it too.

Neither one of those look like the oil press wire. Mine is a single spade type connector with a round rubber grommet as part of the connector.
My 86 and 88 have the same style.

Re: oil pressure sending unit wire?
Hmm.. this is driving my nuts!! For some reason i cannot find the wire to my oil pressure sending unit. I cut the plastic wire loom off all the way down to the firewall/connector on the drivers side harness and there is no tan browish wire except the one on that connector in the first pic ( which i dont know what goes to either). That wire does come out of the drivers side main harness correct?

Yes, it does come out of the drivers side harness. I'll check again when I get home, and maybe give you more infromation.

Re: oil pressure sending unit wire?
Look at the C100 bulkhead connector and trace the tan wire from pin E5.
Hope this helps.

Lou is that the connector at the firewall in the engine bay or up under the dash?

Re: oil pressure sending unit wire?
Yes, it's the big rectangular connector on the firewall by the brake master cylinder, under the relays.

Re: oil pressure sending unit wire?
Just to cap this off, it was the tan wire that went to the connector as shown in the picture above where 1badrocz is holding the green and tan wires. Must've branched after the connector. I knew the sending unit wire came through the connector on the firewall and when no other tan wire could be found, I tested that wire ... and the rest is history.
