Pics of a few relays, modules, and wires.

And can anyone tell me what they really are and if i need them. Its a 1987 LG4 Firebird, with the LG4 swapped for a carb'd 350 and was wondering what i should cut and take out while i have it still torn apart and the dash out? its on cardomain

The only thing that I can see that black box being is the cruise control unit. Was it attached to the large black box under the dash near the ECM? If it was, than it is cruise control related and would be needed if you want cruise control. Not sure about it being the cruise box though.

Well im taking Cruise control out of my car, and it was mounted by the ecm, on the outside of dash behind the first passenger dash panel.

Sorry for the wrong information, I guess thats what happens when I try to take a guess about a firebirds setup . I really only know camaros

the black box looks aftermarket. maybe something that goes along with the alarm. I don't remember seeing it in any of my thirdgesn over the years.

Well considering the wire into it has original colors i am guessin it isnt aftermarket.

The box stamped 'AC' is the cruise control module. IIRC the brown wire is the VSS, and the rest go to the cruise diaphram under the hood.

If you don't want your CC, remove the unit, and tie the harness out of the way. There's no harm in leaving the wiring for the cruise, as long as you mark it so you don't mix it up the next time.

The yellow box is the VSS buffer. The yellow and purple lines go to the tranny, the brown goes to the ECM, and the others are probably speedo. If you are going to retain either your ECM, or your stock gauges you will need it.
