Help! how to hold sparkplug wires in place

My spark plug wires pop off oddly enough its the #5 and 6 cylinders which are opposite eachother 2nd in from the back. what is out there to use that will lock them on there in place the #6 cylinder also popped the wire off the distributor aswell. I upgraded my 83 Trans Am with an accel cap, rotor, supercoil and new accel wires aswell, new alternator and batt aswell. the motor is a chev 355ci

there must be a clip or loctite type ?

also do they make heat sleeves for spark wires? my headers ate number 6 cyl wire when it popped off.

I think something is wrong with the wires, they're meant to fall off from the spark plugs, that or you are not pushing them in all the way until they click... They do make individual boots for spark plug wires. They should be pretty simple to find on ebay. Good luck!

There is a metal socket inside the sparkplug boot that supposed to "lock into" the sparkplug... I would try to get some pliers and squeeze the socket inside the boot (wire crimp method). That way it'll be a millimeter or two tighter and then see if you can pop it into the sparkplug...

i did that but i dont like it as a solution also your probably losing your 100% contact if you didnt squeeze it, there must be a snap ring type or something.

Good luck with your snap ring. You wont lose contact by "fixing" the connector for the plug... your fixing it. it still touches the tip of the plug. so whats the big deal? Just get new wires and stop complaining.
