Engine slow to turn over/won't start
Hey Guys!
I just picked up my first Camaro, an 86 IROC-Z with a swapped 350 Sml blk and 5 speed. It has a quadrajet carb and 4 bolt main. The car started fine when I picked it up, but I needed to make a few stops with it last night (tires, oil, etc) and each time I started the car up, it was slower and slower to turn over (required more and longer cranks), eventually not being able to start the engine. After I let it sit over night, I went out before work and it started right up several times without any problem. I will also add that I had the battery tested while the car was off, while it was cranking, and while it was on revved a bit and it checked out (maybe I need a battery with more cranking amps?). Any ideas on what the problem might be? I'm going to check all the wires from the battery to the starter later today, could this be the cause? Or might it be the starter itself? Since this isn't the stock engine and I'm not sure what engine it really is other than a Chevy 350, what starter would I need?
Thanks.

You had the charging system checked? Alt and batt okay? Check the battery cables for signs of corrosion, and look for any missing ground straps.
Does the car have headers that come close to the starter?
