URGENT, NEED HELP!!!
Decided to check the headlight switch and instrument light switch. So I removed panels and the two switches. Opened the switches and checked them, bended the contacts carefully to secure contact and sprayed with crc 5-56.
But I forgot to disconnect battery!!!!
Had a yellow 10amp fuse blown. Replaced with a new one.
Now I have no power at all. No lights nothing! I dont see how I could have messed something up behind the switch panels(removed both, since I didnt have any instrument background lighting...)
Please anyone? Fusible link? All fuses are ok, but I didnt check the two metal 35amp fuses or whatever they are....

check your under hood relays but sounds like you killed te main power source for those components since all that stuff is out at the same time. also 1st check your circuit breakers in the fuse block, just pull them out and put a fuse in to see if you get power. if all your fuse are good . you blew a fusible link.their either coming offf the started or if your luck thres a block under the hood on the passenger side where the all connect.

Re: URGENT, NEED HELP!!!
Hello,
Checked wiring diagrams, which im not very good at bur anyway...
Only had a small 1 ?2 ton jack so couldnt lift the car much but power to starter is ok. Theres a split cable from the solenoid, are these fusible links or do they connect to fusible links? Couldnt see very well but tucked them and they seemed intact, but as I said maybe the fuses are connected a bit "downstream"?
Where do these wires go, to enginebay first or through firewall or what?

Oh..and I checked the fuses with ohm-reading on my multimeter. they were all ok. BUT I had only like 1-2 volts att the battery posts when courtesy fuse was connected....Removed it and voltage climed to 12.8 but still nothing worked...I think maybe more than one fusible link is blown...
Grateful for more input, anyone?

Re: URGENT, NEED HELP!!!
Well theres one from battery to chassis pass side which is fine and one from batt to alternator which is also fine. Maybe there is one more from engine to chassis? Havent had time to check....
Maybe I can hook som jumper cables up to get things grounded so I can rule that out....

Re: URGENT, NEED HELP!!!
ok going back to the beginning right this was all around your lights, so what i think might have happened or more fact from fiction is you probably fired your positive and negitive wires going to your fuses mostly you light and assecery. this happens when you over loud those thin guaged wires with massive current wich you did when you blew that fuse you my have to run new wires. what you should do check your current draw across those to fuses and that willl tell you where to look. also can you start the car? or nothing that would be a big help to know, but if you can start then try this check ur acc fuse acording to wiring specs theres a fuse for curtisy lights, acc , and tail lights check theese three fuses first befor we go down thpath of having to rewire

Re: URGENT, NEED HELP!!!
No i cannot start the car and there is no click from the solenoid. Checkeng the diagrams there is one fusible link A which leads to fuse-block, fuses for courtesy and interior lights and also light switch. had problems with headlight doors. ordered a new isolation relay since both stopped to work, but havent got it yet. So disconnected relay...
The other fusible link from starter, B, goes to everything else! And nothing which it leads to works....will check the link once I find it, and if its ok, continue from there. But I get the impressions that there are two seperate problems, link B circuits no power, and link B circuits shorted?

Re: URGENT, NEED HELP!!!
def shorted that why theres a major draw from the batter you saw, hey try running a wire straight from the battery to the fuse like i said tis will let u know if its before or after the main fuse
