Car: 1990 RS tbi camaro
Engine: 5.0 tbi stock, hooker headers
fuse blowing out! dome light, locks horn and gauges
any 1 know what could be shorting out my fuses? My door locks, horn, trunk latch, dome light,and gauges work for a while when i replace the fuse but then it shorts out in time. and as soon as i put in a new fuse in lil sparks come from where i just put the new fuse but it works for a awhile, it doesnt immediately short out right when i put the fuse in... any ideas?

I had the same problem. Turns out I had a penny stuck in my cigarette lighter... I now no longer keep change in the ash tray!

similar issue, my cig lighter just had corrosion and it was causing the electricity to arc to ground and blow the fuse, you can pull the assembly out and clean it off with some emery cloth, does wonders lol

ill check my cig lighter thnx guys..... hope thats whats wrong with mine since i dont have a cig ligther in the socket its just empty hope that works

What fuse is getting blown out? My firebird's had this problem for a while, I thought is was something highly complicated... what a relief.

It's the accessory fuse. 20amp yellow more or less in the middle of the fuse block

well, mine started blowing out again and the cigarette lighter has been disco so I should have fun this weekend chasing the short down...*grumble*

Cig lighter as well. I don't push it all the way in. I leave it half way out....just enough to keep it there but not to make contact.
