Brake lights lit up
Brake lights lit up
New pads, shoes, hadware kit, wheel cylinders. Brake have been bled.
Could this be the master cylinder?
The parking brake light blinks on when braking, off when driving. Sometimes stays lit.

Re: Brake lights lit up
That's not much help, in the way of EXPLAINING of what you mean..
But......None of those parts you have listed above, have anything to do with the LIGHTS. Check the switch on the brake pedal lever.

Well it just came on recently. My wheel cylinder was in piecis inside the drum, and my adjuster was rolling around too. I heard it rattling when backing out. The light came on after that. I replaced everything, bled system, and lights still on.

But again...Those parts have NOTHING to do with the lights. The lights are controlled by the box on the top of the pedal shaft, under the dash.
I think you've been chasing the problem, by attacking the wrong area.

Re: Brake lights lit up
What would cause it to blink on and off? The brakes feel different also. This needs to be fixed b4 I drop my motor/trans in. I wanna be able to stop!

Re: Brake lights lit up
could actually have nothing to do with the brakes. Just like Stephen is telling you the only controller to the brake light switch as far as I remember is the switch on the brake pedal (well above it) and the blinking on and off could just mean the wiring is to blame, possibly bad ground or broken wire. any of the 3rd gen cars aren't as advanced as the ABS equipped cars meaning there isn't a clusterf*ck of sensors for the seatbelts brakes etc.

Re: Brake lights lit up
Hes talking about the brake light..... I had the same issue, got it to go away for months but it recently came back. I beleive air in the lines causes this or a problem with the vacuum. I would suggest bleeding all of the brakes again really really well.

Re: Brake lights lit up
Stephen is right, good wording is fundamental to finding the cure for the problem.
If one isn't willing to word their problem right, then who would be willing to read it and help find the cure?? (and it sure helps knowing English and spelling when posting a problem)
But I'll be a nice guy (since it's such a great sunny cold day outside
).
IF the problem is with the brake WARNING light in the dash, then I'd look at the connector on the master cylinder. If the connector is tight and clean, then it could be that either the front or the rear brake lines aren't bled 100%. The switch on the master cylinder is called Brake Pressure Differntial Warning Switch and if there is difference in the lines pressure, it will light up.
I just read in one post that "The brakes feel different also." Insert a big "duh" here. The brakes need to be bled, period.
Hope this helps.

Think it could be a faulty Sensor on the master cylinder?
