Re: Speedometer
More info please. Its been two years but I might b able 2 help. If I remember right I had to take the cable out from under the dash. Its in a tight spot, & yes it may not be possible to pull it out first to get it unhooked.

Re: Speedometer
The electronic gauge was on 1990, & up cars. Its the cable. It can not be pulled unless it is disconnected first. It also has a retaining clip. You will get it. I remember yelling, cursing, & throwing. I used a longer then normal flat head to press on the retainer. It was not an easy deal. You can pull on the cable while using the screw driver with your other hand. Get a light that fits on your head if you can, or fight with a flash light rested on your shoulder like I did. I bought a head light later for things like that. Works great. Get the one that can be adjusted for aiming the light where you need it. May also help to take the driver seat out. My whole interior was out of the car, other then the dash at that time.

Re: Speedometer
Should just have to line up the cable with the speedo, & push it in. Try not to jam it in. They are very sensitive. If you push to hard you will get speedo noise after its all said & done. I had to pull the cable down a few times to turn it in order to get it just right. you can also do one of two things to keep the speedo from moving while you push on the cable. bolt it all back up, or push the opposite side by hand. Like pluging in a drop light to an extetion cord.
