battery relocation with diagram, help me rewire my engine

hello, so i'm converting my car from tpi to carb. I have already taken the intake off and i have not yet cut any wires.

I wanna get rid of all unecessary wires and move my battery to the trunk, i will be using 2 ga. heavy duty copper positive battery cable through a cutoff switch and to a distributor block under the hood incase i need to get jumped.

right now my possitive wire goes straight to my alt. and starter, then from the starter i have like 5 wires going to all accessories including bulkhead connector on the driver firewall.

Will it work if i run the constant 12v wires from my bulk head connector to a distributor box that will be hooked up to my battery, instead of going to the starter? and just leave the positive wire to the starter and the purple for switched power??

how would you do it?

that will only work if the batt switch is in the on position.
you will still need a wire directly from the battery to what ever you want to have constant power.

because when you turn off the switch it will sever all power the way you have it wired

Run the wire from your fuses to the constant side of the cutoff switch, that is the only change you need to make.

Isn't that sort of avoiding the purpose of that switch if you bypass it with those other wires for constant power?

MmHmm thanks for the reminder. Since the only thing on my car that has any sort of memory is my radio i will just run a constant 12v to my radio only. everything else will be off when i flip the switch. I wonder how this is gonna affect my alarm system? oh well, gotta sacrifice some things in order to go fast i guess

I have a tpi alternator and it has one positive wire and then a plug with two wires, one which goes to a constant power and the other used to go to my ecm, what do i do with that wire??

The heavy gauge wire bolted to the stud goes to your distribution block

The alt plug requires 12v at the red wire or it will not charge, pull this from the distribution block
The brown wire goes to your gauge. I dont think it went to your ECM, but rather thru the C207 connector near your ECM
