Cigarette Lighter Doesnt work

Hi, the cigarette lighter does not work and every time I put something in it, the fuse blows. I went to the auto parts store and bought a new one but it does not fit...

Anyone know where to get a hold of one?

92 RS 305

I've got some extras, but I don't know if its even worth it to you to have to pay for shipping. JY is usually the easiest, but you have to check it out a bit

I just went to Shucks, Autozone and Napa and couldn't find one. Does GM still sell stock replacements?

Are you looking to replace the lighter part that comes out or the receptacle it fits into. I'll send you two or three of them tested to be good shipped for $10. A little more and I'll include the other halves as well.

I have the same problem. Never got around to fixing it since whatever was in auto store did not fit or work.

Re: Cigarette Lighter Doesnt work

The 82-92 Camaro uses the same cigar lighter as just about every other GM car & truck from at least the mid-70's up until at least the mid 90's. It shouldn't be hard to find a good one in a junkyard. Any GM dealer should be able to get them also, and they should be dirt cheap. The ones most discount autoparts stores carry are generic and you might have to try a couple to find the right one. For the money it's probably easier to just get one from a dealer.

I cant believe you couldnt find one at an autoparts store.Theyre at all of them around here.Try the dealer i guess,or a fourth gen or something from the j/y.I wouldnt waste my time with an older one as they`re prolly all burnt out or rusted.I got mine from either auto zone or advanced.Still had them the other day when i went in.

Re: Cigarette Lighter Doesnt work

Can anyone answer why when you put the cigarette lighter in that it sparks and blows the fuse?!? I keep having this problem and the lighter itself is NOS so I don't know what's wrong.

Re: Cigarette Lighter Doesnt work

did something fall in there? that can screw with the lighter if, say, a penny fell into it, and its easy to miss.
