Fuel tank unit??? carbed engine
Hi,
Somebody have any ideas what "fuel tank unit" stands for on '87 Camaro LT with originally carbed LG4 engine and mechanical fuel pump.
I have switched to holley TBI, inline fuel pump and MegasquirtII ecu. Have maked up custom wiring. and now want to remove all unneeded wires.

Fuel Tank Unit can refer to the fuel gage sender or other device in the tank. It helps to know the context of the discussion.

When you see fog lights on in good weather beware. Low performance driver ahead.
How bout those nervous nellies too scared to drive without headlights on in the daytime or if there is a little rain!

Exactly, the '87 LG4 comes with a little helper in-tank electric. It won't put out much pressure as it was designed to assist the mechanical pump and prevent vapor lock. You'll probably be fine keeping it operational (I'd recommend it). If you disconnect it though, it will become a restriction if left in place.

Don't neglect to include alternate controls for the existing in-tank pump. It is controlled by the existing ECM harness as the wiring diagram shows.
