If you are blowing fuses you have a short to ground.
You need to track through any circuits off that fuse and make sure the wiring is good, then check whatever item is on the circuit

agreed, there is a short somewhere. The gauges circuit is hooked to the tail light circuit, the interior light circuit, and maybe like the radio circuit to name a few I believe.
Who is trying to cheat you out of money???? A shop??? Finding shorts can be hard...tools needed...test light, multimeter, and wiring diagrams for your car. Also needed are tools to repair wiring.

I don't have a reference for a 1983 T/A, but I've got some 83 Camaro info... It might be the same. Anyway... For the 1983 Camaro, the gauges fuse powers the gauges (shocking, I know), warning lamps, seat belt warning buzzer, and the rear window defogger. Any one of those items, or a short anywhere in the harness could be killing the fuse. You'll want to start by finding a wiring diagram for your car that shows that circuit. Then start troubleshooting each part of the circuit until you find the short.
Good luck.
Good luck.
