i know how to do it, but i don't know what to use as a jumper.

there's a red and blue wire, and the red is cut to use it with a v6. for the v8 to work, the (18-24gau) wire needs to be spliced back together, but there's not alot of room

ok, I'll help out, but I'm not exactly sure what you are referring to as "MSD mod"? If you have to reconnect a small cut wire, then get another small gauge wire (or appropriate gauge wire) and solder it into place. If you can't get to the wire ends, if there isn't enough, then open the box up to see inside where the ends go and you should be able to solder a new wire directly to the terminal it comes out of...

yeah, the small wire is cut and the guy who originally put it in the truck cut it close to both sides so it wouldn't arc. now onto the next problem, how do i open it up? those are rivets right? that means i have to drill the holes.... reckon i could just go back with cap screws and nuts? eg. : screw|rubber|mounting surface|lock washer|nut

I've never had an MSD box...yet, so all this is just going by references and what I know about other electronics I've taken apart. But if its riveted, you should be able to put it back together with nuts and bolts or just put new pop-rivets in place...
