i had to replace the one in my 94,it kinda sucked. i had to pull the steering wheel off (steering wheel removal kit) ,the metal plate behind it (steering wheel hub removal tool), undo and pull the turn signal cam out(dont have to unplug it just let it hang),remove the plastic wire harness cover at the base of column, unscrew the turn signal switch and look at the wire colors, trace em down to the harness and unplug, carefully snake the wire up through the column and out. now reverse process with new part, be patient and take your time-good luck

I did this to my son's 88 GTA. All I did was remove the cover from under the dash above the driver''s feet. Disconnected the jack that comes down from the lever. I tied a guitar string to the old lever side harness. I pulled the lever out and carefully pulled the wire up thru the column. I tied the guitar string to the new lever harness and pulled it through the column, plugged it in to the harness, and pushed the new lever into its seat. Took about 20 mins.

Re: 1989 Camaro turn signal/dimmer/cruise control replacement steps needed

Just bought an '89 GTA. My turn signal stalk is very wobbly. The hi/lo beam function doesn't work. The wipers only work if I push and hold the "washer fluid" tab. Cruise control works just fine.
Would a new turn signal stalk fix my problem, or is it something else?
