Coil Wiring



this is standard HEI (external coil) wiring, where does white (tach) cable goes ??

Tach This On The Race Schedule

The white wire goes to the coil primary, on the opposite end of the ignition switch line.

as my english and f-body wiring are not strongest side a diagram or pictures would help with this kind of explenation, thru where this cable goes, left, right or middle side of firewall, where does this ignition swich is located ??

is it the white one on right?

Tach This On The Race Schedule - do you mean connect it to tachometer ?? will ECM see RPM's with this cabe disconnected ?

As you can see from the drawing you posted there is a white wire labeled tach.

Follow that wire to the firewall.

On the opposite of the firewall you should find it.

The ignition switch wire goes to the
12 V on your drawing.

Dear Nina i know that and i would do that if my harness would be uncut but due to it is hacked i'm not able to do that and this is why i asked this question

You've dug up the wrong spot. Its not in the steering column. That white wire is wiper control

It goes from the coil to the C100 (bulkhead near the booster) and into the dash harness. From there its a strait shot to the cluster

You need to be looking in the engine bay. Rear of the engine, near the dist on the coil. Should be two connectors with two wires each, gray body is the one you're after. One big pink wire and a small white wire. White is tach, pink is IGN

thanks a milion, my car is 88 but 87 diagram propably will be same, on C100 it's D6, right ??
