no power to anything

hey i am new to the forums i own a 89 firebird with the 305 tbi engine. i have a few questions, i bought this car 2 days after christmas 2009 and i recently started working on it. at first it fired up all ok and everything worked. only thing i did to engine so far was spark plugs on march 20th.

now my problems that i am having are the battery keeps dying and wont stayed charged, nothing in my interior works, my rearview mirror map lights dont turn on, my dome light dont turn on, my light under the dash dont come on. my hatch release button wont open the trunk. and my fuel gauge reads past fuel onlything i have in there is 3 dollars, and my trip odometer no longer flips it back to 0. my headlight motors dont pop up. when i start the car all it does is crank wont turn over even put more gas in and kept adjusting the timing.. all i get is fire through the throttle body every single time whether the timing is advanced or retarded. and my side mirrors dont adjust anymore. im sorry to post such a long thing but i just want to get as much help with this as possible. im only 16 and this is my first car. thanks for any help that i get

The priority is you need power to fix the other problems so we’ll address the battery problem first.

Sometimes the under-hood light does not go out so check that easy one first.

Then connect an ammeter in series with the battery.

(You can use a small bulb such as a side marker bulb if you don‘t have an ammeter.)

With everything turned off and doors closed observe the current flow.

Pull the fuses one at a time till you see the current drop.

That’s the circuit with the problem.

Start Here

Once you make sure you have no battery drain you can start the start problem.

You said it ran when you got it, then you replaced the plugs, and now it won’t start.

How sure are you that you got all the spark plug wires back on the correct locations?
