Re: HID Trans am headlight conversion
you get a plastic housing that replaces the sealed glass headlamp, then you can use composite style bulbs in them.the way there vented and where the bulb goes in the back, they werent designed to be flipped down as in our firebirds.
i keep my car garaged but i left it out the night i put them in and the next day they had water in them.
i pulled them out of the car dried them out and put them in my s10 and they never got any water in them after that.i put silverstars in my car and was done with it.
i dont think any of them are designed to be flipped down.and i dident want to half *** them with silicone or anything.i paid $75 for them and they were pretty good looking,i wanted to get hid's too but the thought of a $100 bulb getting wet.......forget that.
I CANT SAY ALL THE HOUSINGS WILL LEAK BUT YOUR REPLACING A SEALED BEAM WITH A COMPOSITE HOUSING THATS VENTED AND NOT MADE TO BE FLIPPED DOWN LIKE IN A FIREBIRD,I THINK THE WATER WILL EVENTUALLY GET IN.

You can buy those and install 9004 True HID's but people are bringing up a good point. Are they vented? Check with seller, they certainly need to be sealed water tight...The glass bulbs don't yellow like plastic does over time.....
