Re: How do I jump the fuel relay

Take the relay off the connector, jump between the orange and the grey if I remember right.

Re: How do I jump the fuel relay

I have three relays on the firewall. Which is the fuel pump? Looking at the car from the front I thought the fuel pump relay was the one in the middle as opposed to the one on the passenger side and the one on the driver's side. I got this idea from my schematics diagram. Which relay is the correct one for the fuel pump. Passenger side, center, or driver side of the three?

Pump Bump

The pump relay is nearest the booster.

Re: Pump Bump

It's the one that has a green/white wire, a grey wire, an orange wire, and one or two more.

One of those is a fan relay - it has a large black/red wire to it. If you have dual fans, the other might be another fan relay.

Re: How do I jump the fuel relay

The problem is that none of the three are connected anymore.

There are three relays there, one for the fan, one for the fuel pump; what is the other relay?

I had a single fan.

My 89 has a relay there for the MAF sensor.

Re: How do I jump the fuel relay

You can jump the pump (jump the pump, LOL) from the diagnostic connector under the dash too. I think this goes through the relay though.

I'm assuming there's a carb on the engine now? EFI won't work at all without the ECM. That factory pump puts out about 50 psi, way too much for a carb.

Re: How do I jump the fuel relay

I have decided to add an 87a replay into the system and totally bypass all of those relays. I'm guessing that one of the other to is for the MAF and I'm going to illiminate that too since I am going speed density. I found the fan relay by the battery and was able to jump that to get it to work. I will see if it works when the car heats up. If it doesn't I will rewire the car. I do not have to worry about pollution because the card has OBD1. However, I am not looking forward to getting the A/C to work.

In addition to the BS3 I have an HSR, 42# injectors, and a Procharger D1SC supercharger, and AFR 195s with 75 cc heads 75cc heads
