My trunk pulldown motor is not working anymore and I am wondering, I will eventually put the kitt taillight cover over an older style taillight. and i would like to put an electric release on the trunk, do i need a different style pull down setup or should i try to repair mine and just add the electric release?

 

I wouldn't swap from a pull down setup to a slammer... My first Camaro had a slammer hatch and it was a PITA.

Parts are easier to find for the pull down setup since it's the most common arrangement. Fix the pull down, and go read the tech article on adding a remote hatch release.
