Fan relay troubles.. May have wired something wrong..

Fan relay troubles.. May have wired something wrong..
So, I wired my fan, fuel pump, electric choke, and my HEI Distributor to my pink ignition switch wire coming from my key. The Fuel pump, choke, and dizzy wire all have 11V when the key is on, but the problem is here..
The fan will work before the key is fully put to run, at .80VDC. When I give the fan relay coil 12V, it shuts off.. Now, I didn't wire it directly to the fan, that's stupid, I used the existing Fan relay on the fire wall. I ran the 12V to the green coil wire for the relay.. What did I mess up?!

The fan relay has four wires going to it. Pin D
is brown with white stripe wire that is hot with key on, F is the green with white stripe wire from the fan switch. E is the fat red wire that is the positive lead, and A is the fat black with red stripe wire that sends 12 volts to the fan positive side. That's how mine works, hope it helps

Reading the print I have for the wiring of my car, I didn't notice that the devices that activate the relay are Normally open switches that go directly to ground, I'm used to temperature devices being before the relay..
So, if you want to start your fan from your ignition switch, run the Dark green/white wire directly to ground

Yep, that will do it. With the key on the fans will constantly be on. Or put a switch between the wire and ground with wiring running into the car and you have an off/on switch with the key on.

I'm considering a thermal switch I can mount on the surface of the radiator to come on around.. 100*F.

Why not install a temp switch in the head or intake like the early cars had without computer control of the fans had?

Plenty of choices out there ; both in price and temp ON /OFF range
The Spal switch I listed is one of the cheaper ones and a quality unit

Yeah, that kind of heat range makes good sense. 100 degrees is insanely low
