1988 TPI Wiring

I did a few searches and didn't turn anything up just yet.
I have a 1988 Camaro that was originally a v6 model. When I got my hands on it, was literally a shell with no doors, dash, or wiring of any kind.

I originally set my 350 up with a carb and did the wiring myself to make it pretty nice and reliable, but didn't really take the time to make the gauges functional and all that good stuff. I finally got my TPI setup all polished/painted/ported ect and I have a 1988 TPI wiring harness, well the ECU to the c100 bulkhead part.

I have a fuel cell for it since I've had an incident in the past with a 3rd gen gastank, it has an external holley pump now that I will switch out for a higher pressure pump like a walbro 255 when I do the TPI swap. TPI base is ported, runners polished inside, plenum ported and beautified. LT1 injectors, egr off, 9th injector off, ported TB too. Have a prom now based on current configurations

I have two issues. #1 I either need to find or make a new inside harness including the fuse panel and such. I've seen the circuit diagrams, but I could really save the headache if someone knows about a drawing of the layout or something.

#2 Is the same kind of deal with a layout drawing for the under hood section of the harness or just someone who has had theirs apart. Theres two single wire connectors near the relay's on passenger fender that I'm unsure on, a few ring terminals near the alternator, and the wires that hook to the knock/o2 sensors. This one I can figure out from the circuit diagrams.. but if someone has a drawing I'd really like to see it.

Easiest solution is to find an 88 dash harness from a JY car

Post pics of your mystery connectors

Re: 1988 TPI Wiring

Sorry I've been focusing on school pretty hard. I got most of the connections figured out, so I only have like 4 that I'm not sure on. I think once I get this all figured out my TPI is ready to go it so I'm excited Thanks in advanced.

1. 6 pin connector on the passenger fender, sort of near the shock tower, I have no clue what this is for.

2. Male and female 1 pin connectors, I am thinking these go to which ever bottle is supposed to be over here, the coolant or wiper fluid.. I don't use either so I'm not sure.

3. Is a two pin flat blade connector that is near the a/c, but afaik does not hook to it.

4. These two are on the fire wall kind of above where the heater core is.

The six pin connector should have a corresponding plug that goes to the section of harness for the cooling fans I believe, and the two single plugs I'm fairly certain should go to a small block mounted in front of pass shock tower, I'm thinking its something for the fuel pump, not sure, I will check on the others when I get home, I have an 88 iroc with 350 tpi in the garage

Thanks for the info and taking a look. I made my own harness and I have two custom fans with one on the front and one on the back so I might just leave those on their own power lol. I heard those might be for the fuel pump, they look like heavier power wires being orange and red so I'm not sure. I honestly have no idea what hooks to those barrier strips on the fenders lol.

Re: 1988 TPI Wiring

The two wire connector does go to the A/C, it plugs in to the magnetic coil.. look right between the pulley and the body of the compressor. As far as the other two up by the blower motor and evaporator.. the single wire plug (should be red wire) goes to a separate wire that runs up to the hood light, and the other plug has a corresponding plug that runs right back into another portion of the harness... Wires lead to a relay by the blower motor. Hope that helps

Thanks so much for your help All I have left is those two single wires by the power distribution strip on the passenger fender. I'll keep researching.
