Hey guys I have an 89 Iroc. When my headlights are on that annoying sound (when your car is off and you leave your headlights on) starts happening and won't stop, even when im driving. Something wrong obviously and I'd rather just kill that sound. Where is the wire and what color is it? What fuse is it?

On a 91 it is located under the dash on the drivers side next to the console. You will have to remove the lower dash panel thats under the steering wheel. The actual buzzer is a black box that will be in a fuse box and can simply be pulled out.

I know this is an older post, but what caused this? The buzzer itself?

I got the same problem Just started today, and i want to Fix the problem not avoid it by hackin things out lol

 

Yeah dude it was the buzzer itself. When you remove the fuse cover, the buzzer is to the right and kind of in the back. With a phillips screwdriver remove what you must to expose the buzzer. If I remember correctly you can simply just pull it off with some effort, and voila, the annoying sound is gone forever!!

 

Well! I found the issue!! after looking at wiring Diagrams for 697 minutes and a headache from hell, i found it!

For some reason after 187482 Miles, The buzzer is Staying on because of the seatbelt. all it it has to do is retract a few inches... doesn't have to be Locked in. I wear my seatbelt from time to time. so it looks like all the time now hahaha

 

wow thats kinda random haha. the only good thing about the buzzer is it reminds you to turn off your headlights, something a goof like me could use every now and then.

its supposed to beep at you when you first start up the car if you dont have your seat belt on, so the seat belt is wired into the buzzer. after i did my engine swap, it buzzes constantly unless you buckle up. i ALWAYS wear my seat belt so its not a big deal for me. and a good laugh when anyone else gets behind the wheel.
