If I remember right, the firebirds have an inline fuse that's down by the fuse block.
The next step would be to find a voltmeter/tester and see if there is power back there. I think the wire you want to check is a red with white stripe, but I'm not 100% sure. Hopefully someone else can help with that. You will have to remove the interior panel back there to get to the wires. Also, do a search, I think there is a wiring diagram on here too.
