Can't get it running.

Had my 86 camaro runnng but fuel pump went out and I know the battery was bad, also replaced the alternator. Replaced all of those and now it won't even crank over. I need some advice on what it could possibly be, I think its electrical and don't know if it could be the starter, wiring to the starter or anything else. The wiring on the car was hacked up, but I cleaned up a lot of it, and had a mechanic (who I trust) help me clean up the hacked mess. Need some advice, got it get it running this summer.

could be the starter or something just got loose while you replaced the battery since the positive cable goes straight to the starter

Do you hear a click from under the hood when you turn the key to Start?

I'd check wire tightness on the battery, make sure the connections are clean and tight, especially the ground wire to the chassis. Corrosion can break electrical connections quite easily.

Re: Can't get it running.

The first thing I would do is sort out if the starter is recieving a signal to start. There is one big wire (BATT +) and one small wire (IGN) going to the stater. Using a voltmeter or trouble light check for 12V at the small wire when the key is turned to the "start" position. If no 12v then you need to track the ignition circuit including fuses, relays and the ignition switch itself. If you have 12v then the problem is either the starter self, the solenoid or the high tension lead to it.

Won’t Run . . . . . . . . No Fun

When you turn the key to the RUN position, do you hear the fuel pump for a second or so?

Re: Can't get it running.

did you follow my suggestion?

I personally hate electricals but the starter circuit is relatively simple, and one of the easiest to diagnose properly. Stop guessing, get out a voltmeter and start backtracing.
