steering column wiring diagram for wipers

I am a new guy here and have been trying to find a wiring diagram showing which wires coming out of the column (3rd gen camaro with tilt)are for the (turn signal lever) wiper functions. Lower on the column are the two wiring plugs and have found the diagram for the main plug (signals etc.) but the other smaller plug must be for the wipers? What I have is a streetrod and am getting ready to wire it up and want to know how I can use the wiring for the wipers to activate my headlights so when I turn the wiper switch on my lights come on. I am not going to have any wipers on the streetrod. If anyone can lead me in the right direction that would be great...any help?

Thanks in advance!

The connector for the wipers is the one with up to 11 wires.

To use it for headlights the
White wire will be the power in, the purple wire will be the power out when the wiper switch is in the HI position.

Re: steering column wiring diagram for wipers

thank you. On the column there are two wire connectors lower down on the column. One has more wires than the other. The one with more wires on it shows that he purple wire is the flasher and the white is the brake light switch. Sorry i'm confused. The column came out of a 3rd gen camaro and don't know what exact year it was. Should I go to a dealer or the library to find a schematic because all I could find on the internet was a basic 3rd gen camaro info showing only the wires for the signals/brakes/flasher etc.

You don’t want the one with more wires.

The connector of interest will have a max of 11 wires.

If you find that the 11 wire connector does not have a
White wire and a purple wire, list the colors it has.

Re: steering column wiring diagram for wipers

ok...you are right, it is a max 11 wire connector. there are no wires at each end of the 11-wire connector. There is no white wire. there is (in order) green; yellow; purple; brown; drk blue; light blue; black; green; green.
i am a little color blind when it comes to dark colors so hope i read them right.

The smaller connector only has 4 or 5 wires.

Thanks again....

Re: steering column wiring diagram for wipers

i just went out to the shop to look at the male end connector (had the female one in my room) and it has the white wire so that means someone removed or pulled the white wire off the female side connector. The white wire was the first one. I will go to pick-a-part and get another one. i will reply with a web address showing what I have found for these wires as soon as I find it again.

here is what i thought was right for the 3rd gen column...
http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...Q9QEwAA&dur=16

if this is not the right one do you have a link for all the wires coming out of the column so I can use the others for the flashers, signals etc?

Thanks again!

The hand drawn diagram is for a first-gen F-body, as well as other GM vehicles.

I don’t have a link to the applicable diagram however maybe someone will chime in.

Also, try searching
ThirdGen

If the above turns up nothing I might be able to have someone here find something which I will post.
