It looks to be 1 of 2 colors.. Grey or dark green. I cant trace it because it goes behind the v8 engine. Looks more grey then green. Its a single wire just like an o2 sensor wire

Re: Random wire?

Dark green would be the temperature sender wire. Does your temp gauge work?

Yes my temp gauge works.. Is there a sensor for it in the back of the engine? Because it doesnt move more then an inch in either direction

Re: Random wire?

When you say "hanging", do you mean that one end is disconnected? If so, what does the connector look like?

So do you have a V6 or a V8? What year engine and what intake?

Re: Random wire?

Well its by the firewall its laying on its side, its a single prong/single prong connecter(looks like a small cylindrical connector) just like an 02 connector and the other end travels behind the engine i cant see where its going.. Its an 88 bird with a 305 tpi and it has maf tuned port manifold if thats what your wondering.

Re: Random wire?

Take a picture? I have a 305 89 TPI (LB9?) so I could look. I have a few wires not connected to things either. It's just that the wiring harness is generic usually.
