Need help please.

I need help on my 88 trans am GTA
My cooling fan does not work, along with all the electronics inside the vehicle (digital dash, windows and so forth)
I test all fuses and they are all good. For my CRSY fuse I'm not getting power. I tested a bunch of orange wires in the bay and I'm not getting power there either.
I tested the fusiable links by the starter but I cannot seem to find out where any of the rest are.
I really just need where the orange wire is hooked up to so I can fix that. I looked at the diagrams and it says "fusiable link H Rust"
Where can I find that. I think that may be my problem.
I had a wire short out that killed the car and electrical. Cars running now but none of the interior and cooling fans run.
Yes I checked the cig lighter
Thanks for all you help
Nick

Re: Need help please.

Anybody? I could really use the help. I searched all over the forums because I'm a big believer in the search button. But I could only find 4 Fusiable links and the 20amp fuse by the battery. but the diagrams are showing more that i cant find.
Thanks

Re: Need help please.

There are the fusible links on the wires on the starter solenoid post, which is what you found.
There are also fusible links by the battery on some of those wires. Their exact location changed a few times over the years so I can't give you a better answer, sorry.
Just follow the positive wires from the battery and you are bound to find all the fusible links.

Re: Need help please.

Yeah i jumped the fuse box with a jumper wire and the cooling fans turn on and the dash turns on But the wire gets hot after a few min. The wiring diagrams show a brown/white wire coming out. Which it does. But on the other side of the fuse is a orange wire. I and two other guys could not find how and where that wire comes from. no diagrams show anything about the orange wire.
My CEL flashes 12.

So you still have a short to ground somewhere in that circuit

Re: Need help please.

Uploaded the schematics for the 88 Firebird with a 5.7 TPI.. Hopefully this helps. Seriously, sounds like you have a blown fusable link which is located by the starter
