Looks like the OP switch connector but your pic is TOO SMALL to see anything clearly.

Some more basic info would go a long way to identifying it
What are the wire colors?
Where abouts in the engine bay is it located??????

Here another pic. The wire is near the firewall by the distributor. The wires are orange, tan, and a greenish brown.
Thanks

Six shooter was right both times. The part is located just above the oil filter. Looks like you are carbed so you do not need it.

Yes, my motor is carbed. I am not getting any power to anything (another thread) ; starter, headlights, radio when i turn the key and cant figure it out.

The OPSU wire has 12 volts running hot to it. Does that make sense? If its just a sensor i wouldnt think it would have 12 volts hot all the time there. im saying this because it could be the reason im getting no power to my fuse block and power to this sensor and the wores are all messed up.

Re: What is this wire?

The oil pressure sensor is integrated with an oil pressure switch which powers the fuel pump. That's why you see power on the incoming wire.

Re: What is this wire?

12V constant at the OPSU plug is a good thing, that's how it's supposed to be.

If it has 3 wires then one of the wires is for the oil pressure gauge

Re: What is this wire?

Thanks guys.

Just got back to this issue. My engine is carbed so i guess i dont need the OPSU (post #9), however i would like to have some idea as to what the actual oil pressure is. If i install the sensor above the oil filter can i assume that will give me an accurate oil pressure reading.

thanks

Re: What is this wire?

If you keep that connector on the OPSU, you will have a good oil pressure reading on the dash. You can ignore the power wires on it if you don't need them.
