How to wire alternator?
CS style and I mean from the fuse box to the alternator. Some of you know that Im having problems with my 92 z28 when I apply the brakes or turn on the headlights the voltage drops found out some wires had bad connections but it didnt solve the problem so yesterday I traced all the wires in the engine bay ( carb'd motor lucky me lol ) and found out that the alternator pig tail have one red wire goes to the 12 volt and the other is purple instead of brown going through the firewall connector and I remember it should be a brown wire so I searched for the brown wire in the big connector in the firewall and didnt find any and this purple wire have current so I was thinking I will rewire the alternator from the the fuse box

Re: How to wire alternator?
get a good audio type wire that has good copper wire, very fine stranded and I use #4 wire to make sure a good current flow. You can look at the type of lug and get a small piece of 3/8 copper wire and solder it and then hammer it flat with a shrink wrap cover and then drill the hole the exact size to the lug and it will work better especially with a higher output alternator. Remember, the audio guys use the best wire out there. It is all I use. I put my battery in the trunk and used 0 gauge and my lights are brighter.
