Engine swap

After changing engine to Carb speedo does not work? Do I need computer anymore? Does the computer run gages? Please help

I have my car switched over to carb and everything still works. i left my comp plugged in under the dash because of the vats system

I never unplugged mine either but speedometer does not eork know??

Might make sure you didnt leave any grounds off if there was any. Pretty sure yours is electronic. Ive never had an older one

The VATS module on its own will still disable the starter relay; the module also sends a fuel enable signal
to the computer to pulse the fuel injectors which you don't have any more
In 90-92 TPI cars the computer is only needed to run the speedo
On earlier TPI and all TBI cars, the VSS signal from the trans goes to the speedo first then the computer
so the computer can be removed with a carb swap ( assuming you have rewired the fuel pump and fans as most do with a carb swap )
