So i have a 87 T/A with the digital dash and it was an automatic car converted it to 5 speed, now in the middle of going to a 6 speed and i would like to get the shift light to work dose anybody have any knowledge on this or know how to get this working it you be much appreciated.

Are you still running the chip from an auto? I know you can play with the rpm you want it to come on in a bin from a stick car. I will have to check my wiring diagrams to see if there is a difference between the two as well.

 

A7 of the ecm for a automatic controls tcc, in a enabled .bin will send power out for the shift light.

 

i pretty sure i still have the auto chip in my car. Sorry i dont know what the bin is electronics arnt really my thing lol

The .bin is the Binary program in your eprom . The memcal in your car has four letters called a broadcast code this is the identifier of what .bin you have. the eprom can be reprogramed to a manual .bin with shift light.

That is a list of broadcast codes for 87. The broadcast code is the letters on the top of the eprom that identify the programing. If you are needing it changed send me a pm I can assist.

There's still gotta be something to wire to enable the light to come on. The TCC and shift light circuit are on the same ECU pin, yet it never comes on for an automatic. It's not just inserting a bulb like the analog folks can do.
