Fog lights dont work
Fog light bulbs were both burned out. Replaced with new bulbs and still dont work. Small light on the fog switch does not come on when you push the switch to the on position. Any help to fix this would be great. The car is a 1988 Iroc Z. THANKS JIM

Re: Fog lights dont work
there is a relay, i would pull it out and test the pin with the red/white wire attached. and it says the red white from there should be there from always hot fusible link G

Fog lights working now. Forgot that the headlights have to be on low beam for the fog lights to work. Check that Richball member. THANKS JIM

Anyone have a pic of the relay and where it is? Replaced the bulbs tonight, low beams on, ignition on... no dice.

If my memory serves me correctly it's on the driver's side fender next to where the evap canister is. Should be right by the horn.

Re: Fog lights dont work
Found it... swapped in another relay, no dice. I will have to check to see if that relay is even getting power. For the '87, is there a separate fuse in the panel for the fog lamps?

Re: Fog lights dont work
Here is a photo of the visible link. It does not appears distorted in any way. I have not measured the voltage before the link (didn't see an easy open area to the lead), but measuring where the link ends in the socket yields nothing. This is the lead that is always "hot" correct?

Re: Fog lights dont work
you cant tell if its good by looking at it you have to use a meter. and the wire that is connected is all brown and melted, you can tell it has taken alot of current at some point. you have to make sure the pin doesnt look damaged and the area were the insulation is melted off isnt permanently damaged

Re: Fog lights dont work
figure out my problem. after checking all my grounding points, wiring, I decided to take a look at the switch. I removed the switch panel and discovered that I forgot to plug in the swith when I previously removed the gauge panel.

Re: Fog lights dont work
you have a short to ground(wire chafed or melted probably) somewhere after the switch.
