To the dot should be ON for the light switch.
I also noticed that you're missing the rubber brake pedal pad. I found a replacement for mine at OReilly's in the "Help" section for about 10 bucks. You don't want to be trying to panic stop with wet shoes on a metal brake pedal.
Ask me how I know!

does your car have fog lights? i have put fogs oem and aftermarket fogs on alot of my cars because i like them and alot of times the people that bought the car originally didnt, but not real expensive to go to a junk yard and pick up the oem housings and either the oem switch or an aftermarket switch and wire it in. that one looks oem, but maybe from something else. who ever it was did a good job installing it either way

The switch is installed upside down.
Is your car an A/C delete car? I notice you don't have any vent registers in your photo. I thought all cars got vent registers regardless of whether it had A/C or not.

as paulo57509 said, it is upside down and a fog lamp switch ... if it is hooked up like factory, make sure your high beam lights are not on when you turn it on, or they will not work ... my iroc shuts off the fog lamps when you turn on the high beams

I have that switch but not installed in the location you have shown.
The switch in your original post is not factory installed. It's appears to be a stock (or aftermarket) fog light switch that was installed by a previous owner.
If your car came with fog lights from the factory, the switch would have been mounted here:
Is this what you're asking?

Did you try the switch with the headlights on? Ignition?
Sometimes fog lights are wired to be only on with low beams, many OEM installs are that way.
Tracing the wires will help determine if/where an issues exists.

I tried every combo, with car on/off and switch on/off, they don't come on so ill have to trace it tonight, I also noticed that my dash lights and other interior lights don't come on either... only the 2 manual lights In the t top area

It is a factory fog light switch out of a Berlinetta. The switch was located on the console next to the window and hatch release switches. Looks like someone installed it there at one time.

IIRC from a prior thread on TGO, '85 MY(model year) IROC had the fog lamp switch in an alternate location as compared to being housed below the headlamp switch as the later model years....
