No power to blower motor!!

I have a 1991 chevy rs 305 camaro. I have put a new blower motor, heater control switch, fuse, resistor, and have tested the relay and still have no power to the blower motor and im at a loss. Im guessing i have a burnt wire somewhere but i dont have any diagrams of these cars to go by when i dig into the harness. Is there something im possibly missing that could cause my problem. Need heat soon cause its already in the low 40s any help is appreciated guys thanks!

If you use the search button above there is lots of info about blower problems
Do you have power available ( coming in ) at the relay , at the switch?

Re: No power to blower motor!!

How far down is the fusible link?? Most of the wires look likle they have been replaced in some spots with male and female wire connectors and the red wire has a male/female connector that looks like it has gotten hot because it is black around some parts. Is it possible the wire is burned somnewhere then or what?? also the black wie that comes out of the same harness near the purple and orange and two shades of green looks like it has gotten hot to.

Looking at that mess I suspect buying this would be a good investment

Re: No power to blower motor!!

The thick red wire going the opposite direction is a second ground wire for the blower motor

The Fusible Link is located at the Starter Solenoid.

You won’t know which one it is therefore probe all of them to see if they are OK.

If they’re OK use a fused jumper wire to apply power directly to the blower
+ terminal.

Did the blower run?

If yes, jump pin A
red wire to pin E purple wire at the blower relay.

Did the blower run?

It doesn’t matter what position the ignition key is in nor blower controls for these tests.

You shouldn’t have to drop it to see them.

They are about 2 inches away from the terminal they are connected to.

Fusible Links usually look like a one inch plastic rod in line with the wire.

You can buy replacements at any well stocked auto parts store.

Let the clerk know the gage the of the wire the blown Link was protecting, and the package might have that info.

Some Link replacements look like a plain piece of wire so now you know what to expect.

Typically Link Wire is to be 2 commonly available AWG sizes smaller then the wire it is protecting.

So, if you are protecting a 10 AWG circuit, you will use a 14 AWG Link.

Cut the old Link off and use a Butt Splice to connect the new Link.

It’s as E-Z as that!
