Cruise control switches on manual trans pedals?

Hey guys, I have a 91 Trans Am which is undergoing a transmission swap (700r4 to t5) and I was just wondering how to hook up the cruise control switches to the new clutch/brake pedals. On the automatic brake pedal, there was an electric/vacuum switch (had two electric leads coming out along with a vacuum hose), while on the manual pedals, there's a vacuum switch on the brake and electronic switch on the clutch. Is it just plug and play? I can get pictures later today of that'll clear things up.

Keep the brake pedal switched as they are.

Just add an electric switch in parallel to the one on the brake pedal to the clutch pedal.

Happy Racing!

Sorry to hijack but does anyone know what color and where the wires are for the cruise switch on the blinker switch? I have a 92 rs that I did an ls6 swap on. I need to splice in the wires for cruise on, set/accel, and resume.

Re: Cruise control switches on manual trans pedals?

Easiest way to do it is, just get the pedals out of a stick car with cruise.

My 83 is such a car. 5-spd w cruise. They're by no means rare.

Beats the crap out of "alternate ethnic" engineering something ... risky. I have a deeply instilled fear of the reliability of anything that can hold the gas pedal down besides my own foot.

Re: Cruise control switches on manual trans pedals?

sofa, I think it's easier for me to play with some wiring at this point than replace the entire pedal assembly lmao. But I took the car for a drive and the cruise control works fine. The brake pedal disengages it but the clutch doesn't; should be an easy fix. I'm gonna try to take a look this weekend because it's been a couple months since I rigged up the pedals and I don't remember what I did LOL

Here's a pic of the Cruise system system from an 86 :

I'm pretty sure the wiring is spliced in parrellel under the factory black tape right before the split. The 90-91 systems might be a little different - but should be 'similar'.

The connectors changed from year to year. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is the 90-92 'dash-side' Cruise set-up from an automatic.
