Headlight issue
I went to move the car last night 87 TA and when I hit the switch for the headlamps the interior lights on the dash didn't illuminate and the passenger headlamp isn't going down. The motor isn't even trying. I'd say maybe the motor went but the fact that the interior lights aren't working either tells me its something more. I tried the dimmer switch. No reason it would of made a difference but I tried anyway.

Re: Headlight issue
Well I'm not getting very far with this. I'll try rephrasing the question. Can someone please provide me with wiring for the headlamp switch, dimmer, headlamp controller under the hood, and to the headlamps?

It was a blown 15amp fuse. I'll just see myself out now.

Was it labeled "Tail light"?

I actually don't know what the fuse was labeled. The labels are all faded away at this point. I just started checking the fuses and came across a blown one.

Re: Headlight issue
Print this out and stick it in your glove-box !!! Should be accurate for your 87 Firebird.
** notice none of them call for a 15 AMP !

Re: Headlight issue
I'm not sure why the fuse blew. The car was mechanically and electrically jury rigged when I got it. I have been going through it trying to fix everything I find. But its a process. This summer I'd like to pull the whole harness out of the car and start fresh. It has been tampered with way to much. I had a bad headlamp motor that could have been putting a strain on the system and the current spiked trying to work it. It has since been replaced.
