computer mounting location

so I pulled the knee panel on the passengers side and the computer just fell out. It was not mounted to anything. I assume if should be mounted to something. Am I missing a bracket or something?

Re: computer mounting location

Your missing the mounting bracket and ecm studs. The ecm gets located right under the dash speaker.

Re: computer mounting location

Right:

The "bracket" is actually a piece of plastic. Usually white. Not very big at all. Might even be up in there, the ECM just came loose from it or something.

Look at the bright side: now you know what that GIGANTIC rattle under the right side of the dash was.

This is out of my '87 'bird. IIRC the one in my old '84 Camaro was white.

Thank you deadbird. I have nothing like that in mine. Time to hit the u-pull-it.

You can look at my post here:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tbi/...ml#post5990689
and see the white bracket that my 89 IROC has. These pictures show some modifications I made to fit a Holley ECU to it, but still good enough to show you what you're looking for.
