Headlights won't work

I need some help figuring out why my headlights aren't coming on. I probed the connectors and got nothing. I also probed the stereo wires sticking out of the hole in my dash and I have power to the ignition wire but nothing on the constant hot side. I didn't find any blown fuses in the fuse panel. Where should I look next? It seems to be a problem on the constant hot side but I'm not really familiar with my car's electrical system. Thanks in advance for any help I can get. I need this car to get to work and it's dark in the morning

After reading some other posts, I should add that the car turns over and runs great, the turn signals work but do not flash on their own, for that I either have front marker bulbs out or it could be because tilt wheel column is sloppy(need to remove the wheel and tighten the screws in it -again!). I also have no dash lights or dome light (dome bulb might be bad). When I parked the car years ago EVERYTHING worked, even the A/C. I had it out a couple days over the summer(lights didn't work then either) but the A/C stopped working - that could be the original compressor still being on it. Have to try to engage it manually to see. Oh, and the only time the cooling fan comes on is if I turn the A/C to max. It's a mess, I know, but hopefully with help I can clear up each issue one at a time. Thanks again fellow 3rd gen folks!

I worked on a camaro once with a really loose tilt column, no interior/gauge lights, gauges dint work, no horn, no hi-beam.After i fixed the loose tilt & put it back together everything worked. Not sure what was causing it though.

Re: Headlights won't work

It was one of the fusable links to the starter solenoid. I got the car on a lift and found it hanging. Easy fix, hardest thing was I had to pull the harness out towards the front of the engine so it would hang down enough to get a crimper on it. Check one off my list!

Re: Headlights won't work

I do have to get the column squared away as my bright switch isn't working and the signals aren't flashing on their own, I have to sit there flipping it up and down. I found one front signal light is out but the other side should still flash and it isn't either. Let them sit for about 7 years and the Gremlins go crazy at work on them.

Re: Headlights won't work

Maybe, but the old fuse link was just hanging there and that could be mice but from the fuse down it was just insulation full of this corrosion looking stuff. Looked like it's just 29 years old and went poop! Hey I PM'd you btw 84 1 LE

That's odd. I'm having problems with this site, right now I can't find the post thread link.
