Emergency Brake Light Staying on
My ebrake light is staying on. I took the tan wire off the ebrake switch...the light is still on. Does the tan wire ground to turn on the dash light or what? The tan wire has no current. The light will not turn off if I ground the tan wire. Can someone help? Might I have a short? Thanks! -Jerod

Are you sure the e brake is not engaged?
Other then that I am no help.

Ah ha! That's it! So the next question is what could the problem be with my brakes? Any help appreciated! -Jerod

One circuit has failed. Check ALL of your brakes, jack the car up, and step on the pedal, (this will require a friend......) have someone try to turn the tires, one at a time, (while they are off the ground) and see which brakes are NOT working. Then you can try and see why. Chances are, you have popped a brake line somewhere, and are losing fluid. (might be real easy to find with just a casual inspection)

I had the same problem and it turned out to be a shorted wire on the circuit board on the back of the instrument cluster.

As it turns out, it was just air in the lines. It was the prop valve switch. I blead the brakes and the light went off. The funny thing was, I hadnt messed with the brakes when the light suddenly came on. That is why my first thougt was the ebrake switch malfunction... Anyway, problem solved. Thanks thirdgen.
