Sounds like dealer installation item. Not factory

Re: GM security system?
So on digging a little deeper,it appears it MIGHT be a Goodwrench VSS-150 or 300,I'll find out when I get a chance to work on the car again.Any body have a experience with these??
Re: GM security system?
There are a few mentions of that security system on the forum in older threads. Generally it's easier to search with google. Probably won't find too much info. From what I've seen/read, it's a "GM" branded accessory that was sold over the counter at the dealership. Most of that stuff was just rebranded Code Alarm hardware.

Re: GM security system?
Thanks for the compliment.
Yeah, the module for mine's in a bag in the trunk. Only the keypad under the dash and the horn under the hood remain. I leave them because the original owner had them installed by the dealer before he picked up the car.
Has the VIN etched in all the glass too. All I need is a Club and a steering column collar to protect the ignition cylnder, and it will be '80/'90s security-tastic!
